Joyce & Sam

Linked by the vessel that connects us all, although not together yet, Joyce and Sam first bonded over their shared taste in music. Naturally, it was the biggest festival of the year, that finally brought the couple together. Post Coachella, a friendship began and when the timing was right… The rest was history.

Their chosen venue wasn’t up for debate. Settling on The Permanent was certainly the second easiest “I do”. A site rich in history, the building features an overlooking balcony, stained glass atrium, and original bank vault doors. The warm colour palette of vibrant reds and oranges illuminated the space and complimented the bronze fixtures and tile mosaics throughout the venue.

For the classic Vancouver backdrop, the couple took to the northshore for photos. Modern buildings and mountains in the background with a touch of haze, couldn't feel more like home. The couple was thrilled to be surrounded by their favourite people on their special day, with lots of laughs during speeches, dinner at the head table, and on the dance floor.

Joyce wore our IBB gown by Newhite. An ultra modern look with an element of femininity given by the oversized bow over the bodice. Known for their architectural flare and unique details, the gown features an asymmetric off the shoulder sleeve and is constructed with a stretch crepe fabric, perfect for comfortable movement all day and into the night.

Joyce’s advise for brides searching for their gown:

"Go with your gut and don't settle. I had purchased another dress almost three years before my actual wedding (we had to postpone multiple times due to the pandemic) and I never had that "this is the dress" moment; I just thought it was nice. But when I decided last-minute to try on my NEWHITE gown a mere six months before our wedding, I truly felt beautiful and that it was perfect for me. I wish I could wear it every single day."
